Frequently Asked Questions
We provide effective reading therapy to students through individualized sessions. We will help you advocate for your child and understand what to do to ensure your child’s rights are served. We help our students to be effective advocates for themselves. To disseminate information about dyslexia, we provide presentations, workshops, teacher training and serve on the AZ International Dyslexia Association’s board of directors.
Before starting any reading therapy, we meet with you and your child. We get to know what your expectations for reading therapy are. We examine all records you bring. We let you know what we can do for you. If it seems that we are not a good match, we will refer you somewhere else. At any time, we are available for meetings to discuss concerns. Parents are usually greatly relieved to have found a place where they know their child will be safe and successful.
A student is always given personalized instruction by a highly qualified reading therapist. The relationship between therapist and student is part of our success. We match not only the skills of the therapist with the needs of the child. We also recognize that personalities should be compatible to build a positive relationship. One student, one therapist. That’s the only way we do it.
A minimum of two times per week is required to show growth. Intensity is a major factor in the success of our interventions. Research as well as our experience show that two times per week results in good growth as well as meeting the needs of the family.
Our sessions are always provided one-on-one, not in a group. You will always have the same therapist. Our therapists are the best! The cost per session is $60. All materials are included. The session is one full hour with the therapist. Preparation for the session and analysis after sessions are part of the $60 fee.
‘We Are The Difference’ is more than just a tag line. Our team is second to none! We each have extensive experience teaching all children, and especially those who struggle with reading. Our experiences and backgrounds allow us to provide the best dyslexia intervention for your child. Dyslexia doesn’t just affect the student. We consider the needs of the entire family. We establish a sense of community through group meetings with our parents. Dyslexia can be very isolating. We have a club for our students where they can meet each other and realize they are not alone. We are large enough to offer services tailored to each student. We are small enough to truly know each other and care enough to demonstrate our commitment every day. The therapists feel that every student is their student. We support children through tough times and celebrate success. Each of our reading therapists is a certified teacher, has extensive training in dyslexia, and understands the frustration your family has already experienced. We will give you the best quality reading help in a professional and caring manner.
